Beginning Salsa (fundamentals)

Beginning Salsa (continuing)

This is the first lesson for new students to salsa. We will teach the all the fundamentals you will need to have fun in Beginning Salsa (continuing students). This is a one hour lesson. Experience: No experience required. When to Join: weekly on Sunday (see class schedule) Taught by Director Manny Gutierrez. Concepts taught: 4                                    Elements taught: 8

Welcome to your first course in salsa dance, the most popular Latin dance style in the World. This course is for beginning dancers and students with understanding in other dance forms. We will teach you all the salsa basics starting with the rhythm, break steps, leading/following fundamentals, basic universal dance techniques, and linking to basic turn patterns. There is a set syllabus with new material every week during the length of the 7 lesson cycle. Experience: 1 class of Beginning Salsa (new students) When to Join: weekly (see class schedule) Taught by Director Manny Gutierrez or Director Cory Gutierrez and TropicalVibes dancer. 	Intermediate Salsa I
	This course is designed to build on the fundamentals of Salsa learned at 'Beginning Salsa'. We will teach you new leading and following techniques, body control,  intermediate patterns and turns, footwork, and fundamental men's and lady's styling. It is on an 8 lesson cycle. Experience: 8 classes of TropicalVibes 'Beginning Salsa' OR instructor approval. When to Join: weekly Taught by Director Manny Gutierrez and TropicalVibes dancer. Salsa Training I (intensive intermediate)	Salsa Training II (pre-performance)
This intensive course is designed to "Get, (you) Good Fast." It covers Intermediate Salsa I, Intermediate Salsa II, and some Advanced Salsa I. Specifically, we help you refine the elements that are necessary to make salsa smooth. Lesson reviews, salsa transitions, timing, spinning drills, styling, the salsa story, social etiquette, and 100% lead and follow are all covered. Intermediate Salsa I: New leading and following techniques, body control,  intermediate patterns and turns, footwork, and fundamental men's and lady's styling. Intermediate Salsa II: You will be introduced to advanced patterns, multiple spins, checks & spins, Lady's & Men's styling in partnership, footwork, Lady's styling, syncopated moves, hand tosses, and how to dance "to the music". We will also teach synthesis lessons to help you bring together what you have learned in the previous levels. Advanced Salsa I: Advanced integrated sequencing, and quickness and precise execution. Patterns of the week. Taught jointly by Directors Manny and Cory Gutierrez. When to Join: 12 week program, 3 hours every Wed. night from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, starting July 9th. Experience: Proficient at TropicalVibes Beginning Salsa series or higher. Concepts taught: 35+                                 Elements taught: varies	Perfect high-level intermediate skills, and learn advanced salsa, through a choreography and show on your way to your goal of becoming a great salsero and/or an on-stage performer. It covers Intermediate Salsa II and touches on Advanced Salsa I. With an average 1:6 instructor to student ratio, we will challenge you and your partner to rise to an advanced level. Intermediate Salsa II: You will be introduced to advanced patterns, multiple spins, checks & spins, advanced Lady's & Men's styling in partnership and while shining, syncopated moves, hand tosses, and how to dance "to the music". We will also teach synthesis lessons to help you bring together what you have learned in the previous levels. Advanced Salsa I: Advanced integrated sequencing, musicality, and quickness and precise execution. Patterns of the week. Taught and choreographed jointly by Directors Manny and Cory Gutierrez. When to Join: 6 month training & choreography, 2.5 hours every week. Auditions will be held in October. Experience: Salsa Training Program I or equivalent experience.
